Home Decor from Drab to Fab!

So with no further ado here is the home decor project that had kept me busy on and off for the last week. Never enough hours in a day for me to get done everything I would like to. Well recently I have come across a few pages on Facebook of people taking older furniture pieces and giving them new  life in fun colors. I decided I can do that too! So we went out to garage sales (hubby too) and we found a pair of side tables for cheap $10 a piece. I little worn out with some water rings and such.. but that didn't make a difference to me! The prior owner informed me that he and his wife used them as nightstands which is also what I was planning on doing..

So once we found the treasure I had to come up with a color scheme.. I am horrible with making decisions I tend to "over think", but I came up with what I thought would be some fun colors.. Yes I said Color"s" I can't just do things simple... I had to go to the next level.

So I overtook the garage since the weather has been hit and miss around here and with a few hours of priming and painting here is the finished product. I hope to organize and clean the bedroom tomorrow and give them their proper home since the clear coat should be dry in the morning!

So Here is my Drab to Fab Home Decor Refurbish:

Also that weekend I got a great deal on a mirror as well, but I don't know if I should show that piece some color too?? Any thoughts??

Once the bedroom comes together I will show you that redo!

I hope everyone has a fabulous extended weekend and that you get some time for Happy Creating!

Who doesn't need a Happy B-day Card now and then...

I have been busy working on a home decor project last week, which is almost done and pictures will be coming.. I have one more coat to do on those items before I can declare them finished! In the meantime though I have made some simple Birthday cards.. It seems like we are always needing a birthday card around here so I made a few up to have on hand. As like most of my cards I used scraps and odds and ends that are left from some other projects. I think its fun to see what you can come up with from the leftovers! Plus I hate to waste or throw any pretty paper out! Don't you??

Most product is from doodlebug. Here is a look at some simple doodle-y birthday cards!

Some are a little girly and some are little bit more manly!
Here is a pic of the original project that left me with all the fun Doodle Bug leftovers! I made a mini book of my niece and nephew's birthday!

I hope this helped inspired some birthday fun! Happy Creating!

Mother's Day Projects

So my first projects have been posted on the Tonic blog! I was so excited to see it! I had given you a peak of what the layout had looked like. Now you can see the two cards and the layout. The layout is of my sister in law with my niece and nephew. The two cards are mother's day cards.

If you want any ideas of what tonic punches/tools were used to make the items or step by step instructions check out the link here.

I hope you enjoy the projects. All pattern papers are American Crafts Garden Cafe. I love the bright fun colors! Next I have to plot how I am going to spend the weekend since Saturday is National Scrapbooking Day. I may have to dedicate some time to the wonderful hobby this weekend!

Happy Creating!
